Acclaimed for becoming a recent winner of the Irvine Youth Music Festival, Amati Strings performs publicly at a variety of venues for the greater good of establishing a musical presence within the community. Amati Strings, a determined group of young, gifted musicians, was founded in 2014, following a recital performance at the Vanguard University during the 11th Annual Solo Violin and Viola Recital.
Since then, Amati Strings has shared their music with the elderly at a variety of senior centers monthly, including the Atria Senior Living Center and Silverado Tustin Memory Care Community. The attendees to these performances became inspired by the different classical and modern genres of music, as could be seen by a senior standing up out of her wheelchair to sing and clap along to “It Had to Be You.” Amati Strings also made an appearance at the Irvine Civic Center to perform for Mayor Steven Choi and the rest of the City Council Members during the Irvine City Council Meeting.
Ms. Judy Yoo, the director for Amati Strings, is a world- renowned musician who has greatly contributed to the music community. After graduating from the highly recognized New England Conservatory, Ms. Yoo has gone on to perform in many worldwide orchestras such as the Metrowest Symphony Orchestra, the Pacific Symphony, and the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra, as well as solo performances in South America, Japan and North America. With her unprecedented musical talent, Ms. Judy Yoo leads the Amati Strings group not only as a conductor, but also as a musical role model and figurehead.
