2017 Artist of the Year: Instrumental Music

Congratulations to Jennifer Park for being in the top 10 of the 2017 Artist of the Year in Instrumental Music, awarded by the Orange County Register.

Jennifer Park is a senior at Arnold O. Beckman High School and plays the violin. She quotes:

“Looking ahead, I want to keep volunteering by playing music for people for healing. I have found that people really enjoy listening to good music and it helps them to feel calmer and more at peace. I want to also keep playing in an orchestra when I am in college.”

Master Class with Ray Chen in 2016

Along with 4 other students, Jennifer Park was invited to attend a master class with Ray Chen, a professional violinist in the Berlin Philharmonic. She played a piece for Ray and the entire audience while Ray would give her feedback on her playing. It was held at the Salmon Recital Hall at Chapman University in November of 2016. She stated:

"It was a bit surreal when I first found out I was selected as one of the students for the workshop, but I can definitely say it opened my eyes to a lot of things. Ray was very effective at making you feel at ease up there, even though there were a couple hundred people staring directly at us.”
